Leading museum-like gallery in the Railyard Arts District, specializing in Modern and Contemporary art, is seeking a full-time art Preparator, shipping professional and facilities management person. This position will work directly with the Gallery's Registrar and Preparator team. Qualifications of Fine Art Preparator Prior experience in a professional art gallery, museum, or equivalent Prior experience shipping artwork Ability to lift 50 lbs. easily Have an enthusiastic can-do attitude Be detailed-oriented and organized Have a valid driver's license Is comfortable using a scissor lift Have a proven, reliable attendance record Be cool under pressure and able to multitask Enjoy working with a group of highly-talented and diverse people. Responsibilities of Fine Art Preparator Professional proper care and careful handling and moving artwork Install gallery exhibitions (including lighting) Install artwork at client's homes and businesses Shipping and packing artwork for transit (international shipping experience is a plus) Build boxes and crates for artwork Liaison with art transporters & shipping companies Occasional travel to art fairs, clients' homes, and artist's studios Gallery and offsite facilities management Benefits and Perks This position requires work in the Gallery (no remote work) Monday through Friday 9am-5pm.
