Job Description
Job Summary This is an hourly position as a research assistant. The research assistant will assist on a project working with Social Sciences faculty and the Dearborn Historical Museum. Responsibilities
- Work with the Dearborn Historical Museum to request records from the city of Dearborn administration Sort through the city's collection of historical photographs Create a finding aid that identifies Arab and Muslim content in collections Sort through the records of past administrations seeking related content Work with the staff of the museum, to provide brief descriptions of documents, images, and other materials This work will be conducted on site at the Dearborn Historical Museum Conduct oral history interviews with some subjects Provide transcripts of interviews Photograph local institutions Required Qualifications• The research assistant should be familiar with: Google Drive and Google Sheets Communicating professionally Oral history methodologies Collecting and analysis of archival materials Must have their own transportation Must be a current student Desired Qualifications• Prior experience working with archival materials.
