Assist in the safety and security of Texas Science & Natural History Museum by monitoring and protecting visitors, exhibitions, building, and grounds. Provide clear guidance, direction, and information to ensure that all visitors have a positive and welcoming experience.?Provide knowledge of museum amenities, exhibitions, and events to visitors. Document and report observed physical interactions with exhibits and collections by visitors, and address any inappropriate behavior in a confident, calm, and friendly manner. Report any missing, damaged objects, or unusual conditions to supervisors. Report any irregularities pertaining to building operations, safety, or fire hazards. Follow museum policies and security procedures to assist in the opening and closing of the museum, daily operations, and during special events. Assist with set-up of furniture and other equipment as needed for events. Actively participate in training programs to improve knowledge of the museum, security best practices, and customer service skills.? Operate freight elevator and manual warehouse equipment and work as a team member to set up furniture and equipment for events; complete other manual duties as assigned. Serve as initial responder in the event of an emergency, know evacuation procedures and routes, contacting a supervisor when appropriate. Act in a calm and decisive manner in assisting in the evacuation of the public and staff from the building during fire alarms or other emergencies. Other duties as assigned
