The goal of the fellowship is to provide working experience for individuals interested in embarking on a museum career. The successful candidate will work directly with the McNay's Curator of Latinx Art. The Douglass fellow's primary responsibility is to assist the Curator by providing organizational support and conducting research toward a major McNay exhibition tentatively scheduled for 2027. Additional duties may include managing correspondence, researching incoming acquisitions, preparing acquisition reports, and other departmental duties as assigned. Applicants should have a master's degree in art history, art criticism, museum studies, or a related field; excellent written and oral communication skills; computer proficiency; and research skills. Experience with Latin American art is a plus. The salary amount for the full-time fellowship position is $33,000. The salary is divided into 20 pay periods from the point of the hire date, which comes out to be just under 10 months. Wages are paid on a bi-weekly basis.
