Job Description Reporting to and working closely with the Le Mars Arts Council Board of Directors, the Operations Manager will be an active partner in the overall success and creative growth of the Le Mars Arts Center through support of its programs and excellent service to our guests. The Operations Manager will be expected to provide consistent support to the Board of Directors and our guests, be active in the Art Center's programming, and contribute to consistent and profitable day-to-day operations and facility management.
Duties & Responsibilities Facility Management & Upkeep:
Monitor the Arts Center for cleanliness and organization of studio supplies on a continual basis. Set up and take down equipment and furniture for parties, workshops, and classes in the studio. Unpack boxes, mark, and place items in designated areas, break down boxes and bag trash. Keep storage areas clean and organized. Notify the board of any issues with facility or equipment that requires maintenance or repair. Let the board know in a timely fashion when facility supplies are running low and need to be restocked. Any other additional requests by the Board of Directors.
Administration & Operations:
Greet and assist Art Center guests immediately upon arrival. Use a Square Point of Sale system for all sales transactions and inventory with accuracy. Communicate status of assignments and update the Board of Directors daily with any information or issues encountered relevant to Arts Center administration and operations. Any other additional requests by the Board of Directors.
Programs, Studio & Classes:
Assist studio, workshop, and party guests as needed. Assure cleanliness and organization of studio supplies on a continual basis. Making samples for studio instruction as directed. Learn and understand the use of studio materials and tools included but not limited to: circuit; acrylics; glass; bisque; silk screens; glazes; stencils; kilns, etc. Organize and arrange programming for groups and instruct assigned groups. Assure needed preparations, including making mockups, are completed timely and work out any obstacles prior to class. Participating in educational opportunities offered by the Board of Directors. Any other additional requests by Board of Directors.
Exhibitions & Gift Gallery:
Work with artists in rotating inventory for the gift shop, making sure items are clearly marked, displayed and in square. Assist in putting up and taking down exhibits. Any other additional requests by the Board of Directors.
Communications:
Assist the Board of Directors in social media marketing and website updates. Communicate with patrons and artists, in person and by phone, in a professional and friendly manner. Use Zeffy software proficiently and accurately for workshop and class offerings. Any other additional requests by the Board of Directors.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 30.0 per week Application Question(s): Available to work 1/2 days on Saturdays (currently 9am-1pm), one evening a week (currently Thursdays until 7pm) and occasional special events.
