Music & Arts is seeking a Brass Teacher to provide high quality private and group lessons in our retail store. In this student-focused role, you will teach brass fundamentals, embouchure, tone production, reading music, and ensemble skills to beginner through intermediate players. You'll create personalized lesson plans, track student progress, and prepare students for school performances and auditions. Collaborating with store staff, you'll support rentals, accessories, and events, fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment that promotes musical growth and long term student engagement. Responsibilities Provide private and group brass lessons to beginner and intermediate students Develop individualized lesson plans and goals based on student needs and skill level Teach brass fundamentals, music reading, tone, technique, and ensemble skills Assess and document student progress, providing feedback to students and parents Prepare students for school concerts, auditions, and performances Collaborate with store staff to support rentals, accessories, and lesson scheduling Maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment Recommend appropriate instruments, mouthpieces, and accessories to students Support in-store educational events, recitals, and workshops Adhere to Music & Arts teaching standards and store policies Required Skills Brass performance Music reading and theory Lesson planning Student assessment Music pedagogy Classroom/lesson management Parent communication Ensemble preparation Basic instrument maintenance Retail and point-of-sale familiarity
