Job Description
Music & Arts seeks a passionate Music Teacher to provide high quality private and group lessons in our retail store. In this part time role, you'll teach students of varying ages and skill levels, create engaging lesson plans, prepare students for performances and school programs, and track progress. You'll collaborate with store staff to support rentals, accessories, and repairs that enhance student success. The ideal candidate is an experienced musician or educator who communicates clearly, loves working with beginners, and is committed to student focused music education in a collaborative, customer service environment. Responsibilities Provide private and group music lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels Develop and follow structured, student focused lesson plans and curriculum Assess student progress, provide feedback, and adjust instruction as needed Prepare students for recitals, performances, and school music programs Maintain accurate student records, schedules, and attendance Collaborate with store staff to support rentals, repairs, and accessory needs Communicate regularly with parents and students about goals and progress Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment in the store Promote lessons and student events within the store and local community Uphold Music & Arts standards for professionalism, safety, and customer service Required Skills Music instruction Lesson planning Music theory Instrumental or vocal performance Classroom and studio management Student assessment and progress tracking Parent and student communication Basic music technology and lesson tools Customer service in a retail environment Time management and scheduling
