Music Teacher (Part-time)

Job Description

Description Walnut Farm Montessori School is seeking a part-time Music Teacher (about 10 hours/week) to teach introductory experiential Music to students ages 5-12 within our Montessori classrooms. The ideal candidate is skilled at engaging young learners through experiential, age-appropriate, and hands-on instruction. This role involves designing experiences for children to deepen their understanding of music across multiple age groups and classroom levels. Experience teaching in a Montessori or similar child-centered environment is preferred but not required. Experience with Orff is a plus. We're looking for someone patient, creative, and enthusiastic about making music with children, and who can adapt teaching styles to different developmental stages. This is a wonderful opportunity for an educator who loves sparking curiosity about music and culture in young children. Qualifications Background in music education, production, or creation Experience working with children Experience teaching music Pass a fingerprint background check First Aid and CPR training (school can provide) Must be a collaborative team member General Duties The general duties of the Music Specialist shall include, but shall not necessarily be limited to the following: The Specialist shall perform his/her duties faithfully, enthusiastically, and satisfactorily at the school during normal working hours on regularly scheduled days, and other times as specified. The Specialist agrees to devote their full attention during normal working hours to their duties as a Specialist of the school. The Specialist will support the mission and vision of Walnut Farm Montessori School The Specialist shall abide by all reasonable rules, regulations, and policies of the school and shall comply with all relevant statutes, regulations, and ordinances of the State of Arkansas, ADE, and the American Montessori Society The Specialist will adhere to the school's guidelines and professional standards as well as all Montessori methodology to maintain excellence. The Specialist will also exhibit a professional manner at all times. The Specialist will complete reports and maintain student records as may be reasonably required by the school. To attend monthly staff meetings as well as any other professional meetings or staff development as requested by the Director of Education or Head of School. Participate in school events as appropriate The teacher shall submit all health forms and background check forms required by the State of Arkansas or ADE.
Pay:
