Compensation:
Base Pay:

KUSD's minimum and maximum new hire salary ranges for teachers include the district's contracted salary, determined by years of experience and higher education, plus state-funded Prop 301 money. The contracted salary in combination with $9,000 in 301 money creates the base wages for teachers, which are represented by the salary ranges. (Prop 301 money is paid separately and not included in the employment contract.)

The salary range for candidates with up to four years of teaching experience is $46,075 - $55,975.

The salary range for candidates with four or more years of teaching experience is $48,075 - $57,975.

Performance Pay:

In addition to base pay, certified teaching staff are eligible for an additional $4,500 in Prop 301 performance pay.

One-Time Critical Needs Stipends (all critical needs stipends are pending appropriate teaching certification): Candidates offered and accepting critical needs teaching positions in math, science, and kindergarten may be eligible to receive a one-time $2,000 stipend.

Candidates offered and accepting critical needs teaching positions in special education may be eligible to receive a one-time $5,000 stipend

Available Annual Stipends (annual stipends are pending appropriate teaching certification):

Special Education Teachers are eligible for a case management stipend in

FY 2026-27

of up to $4,000. Special Education Teachers in ED-P classrooms are eligible for a stipend in

FY 2026-27

of $10,000.

To Qualify:

Bachelor's or more advanced degree from an accredited institution, AND

An Identity Verified Print (IVP) fingerprint clearance card through Arizona Department of Public Safety, or ability to obtain prior to start date, AND

Teaching certification through

Arizona Department of Education:

Elementary, Middle Grades, or Secondary Certificate:

Music Approved Area

• Arts Education, PreK-12 Music Certificate

• Music, PreK-12 Endorsement, AND

SEI, ESL or Bilingual Endorsement issued by Arizona Department of Education, within one year of hire.

Arizona offers an alternative path to certification for those with a Bachelor's or more advanced degree who would like to pursue a career in teaching. Individuals pursuing a teaching career through this alternative pathway must enroll in a teacher preparation program approved by the Arizona Department of Education and obtain an Alternative Teaching Certificate to be eligible for hire.

Principal's Message Kingman Middle School offers students in grades 6th, 7th and 8th a great place to learn. The school first opened in 1948 downtown as Kingman Junior High. In 1968, the new school opened and students have been walking its halls ever since. Kingman Middle School, Home of the Bobcats, prides itself by not only offering a complete academic program as well as comprehensive elective programs that students can experience throughout the year. We have a complete athletic program that completes the exciting opportunities your child can experience here.
