Guitar Instructor - Elementary School in Downey (afterschool program) Elite Guitar Downey, CA Job Details Contract $45 - $50 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications School experience Emotional support for children Music Relationship building (classroom management strategies) Student emotional support Youth programs teaching experience Student social support Public school experience Driver's License Bachelor's degree Working with students Instructor-led training (training delivery method) Teaching experience with young children Full Job Description We are hiring experienced and passionate Guitar Instructor to teach after-school Rock Guitar group class at an Elementary School in Downey, CA. The ideal candidates must be passionate to work with kids of all ages. Priority will be given to applicants with strong classroom management skills, passion for teaching, willing to learn, and those who demonstrate good leadership skills. Experience with multiple instruments is a plus. Classes are 3.30pm-4.30 pm but instructors will be paid 2 hours - from 3pm-5pm. Currently, we are looking to fill Tuesday AND Thursday class, but other days may become available as we open new classes. Instructor must be available both on Tuesdays and Thursdays for consideration! Hiring immediately! Elite Guitar has provided music education to thousands of students in public schools since 2017.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1-year teaching experience working with children of different ages. (required) Excellent classroom management skills (desired) Ability to work independently (required) Be punctual and reliable (required) Be self-driven, with the right attitude, and desire to positively influence and support the students' emotional, physical, and mental development through music (required) Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, school staff, and teachers (required) Have a valid California Driver's License AND reliable transportation (required) Must be authorized to work in the US (required) Prior experience teaching group classes at afterschool programs, public schools, churches, non-profits, or summer camps (strongly desired). Prior larger group (10-15 students) class experience (strongly desired) Bachelor's degree in music, or pursuing a degree, combined with teaching experience (desired) Must pass a background check (required)
