Music & Arts seeks a Cello Music Teacher to provide high quality private and small group cello instruction in our retail lesson studio. You'll develop individualized lesson plans, teach proper technique, music reading, and performance skills for students of all ages, and prepare them for recitals, auditions, and school performances. In this student focused, collaborative environment, you'll communicate progress to parents, coordinate with store staff and school reps, support sales of appropriate instruments and accessories, and help create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe learning space that supports long term musical growth. Responsibilities Provide private and small group cello lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels Create individualized lesson plans focusing on technique, music literacy, and performance skills Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school performances Assess student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians Maintain accurate attendance and progress records Collaborate with store staff and school reps to support music education programs Recommend appropriate instruments, accessories, and materials to support learning Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging studio learning environment Participate in recitals, events, and community outreach as needed Stay current with best practices in string pedagogy and education Required Skills Cello performance Music theory and notation Lesson planning Classroom and studio management Student assessment and progress tracking String pedagogy Rehearsal and recital preparation Verbal and written communication Customer service in a retail environment Basic sales of instruments and accessories
