Scope of Duties:
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement lessons.
  • Assisting with instruction, assessment, and logistics (concerts, performances, showcases, etc.
) as determined by the band director.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate student involvement in music activities
  • Rehearse small groups of students as needed
  • Provide extra support for students
  • Support and assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans
  • Monitor, document, and report on activities as needed
  • Maintaining musical instruments
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Proficient Percussionist
  • Professional or Industry Experience in Music (performance, teaching, etc.)
  • Background and/or familiarity with ensemble music
  • Basic knowledge of instrumental function/design/tuning/pedagogy
  • Experience working with grade 6-12 students
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations, including youth and adults
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including public speaking skills
