Music and Art Teachers —
Elementary After-School Programs Location:
South Sacramento, CA (Elder Creek Area)
Pay:
$32.00-$45.00 per hour

In person About the Opportunity We are seeking creative, reliable Music and Art Teachers to lead engaging after-school classes for Kindergarten through Grade 6 students on a public school campus. Applicants may specialize in music, art, or both . You do not need to teach both subjects to apply. This opportunity is ideal for teaching artists, experienced instructors, and college students with a strong background in music or visual arts who enjoy working with children. What You'll Do Plan and teach engaging, age-appropriate lessons for small groups of elementary students. Introduce music concepts through activities such as rhythm games, singing, listening, movement, and introductory instrument exploration. Teach art concepts through drawing, painting, coloring, crafts, and creative design. Encourage creativity, confidence, collaboration, and self-expression. Manage classroom routines and maintain a positive, safe learning environment. Prepare materials and coordinate with program staff. Help students prepare for artwork displays, showcases, or performances when needed. Teaching assignments will reflect each instructor's experience and subject specialty. Qualifications A background in music, music education, visual arts, fine arts, illustration, or a related field. Experience teaching or working with children preferred. Ability to adapt activities for different ages and skill levels. Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills. Reliable transportation to the South Sacramento / Elder Creek area. Ability to complete the required DOJ/FBI background screening for school-site work. A patient, enthusiastic, and dependable approach to teaching. Preferred Experience Teaching elementary students or leading after-school programs. Group music instruction, beginner instrumental instruction, or choir. Crafts, painting, mixed media, or classroom art instruction. Education coursework or previous classroom experience. Why Join Us?
