ASAP About Us Belle Melodie Music Art School is headquartered in Carmel Valley, San Diego, with satellite studios in Fallbrook and Irvine. We offer comprehensive classical and pop training for ages 4 through adult. Private lessons include piano, violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, bassoon, percussion (including drum set), guitar, bass, and voice; group classes include musical theatre, chamber music, band, percussion, and recorder. We offer music theory classes—either one-on-one or mini-groups (2-3 students)—covering levels from preparatory through AP Music Theory. We also run fun, learning-rich music camps throughout the year. We prepare students for school-orchestra auditions, SDYS and MMYS, and for exams including ABRSM (we are San Diego's ABRSM exam center), MTAC/CM, RCM, and AP Music Theory. We prioritize performance, hosting student recitals every two months. Through our Competition Hub, we coordinate entries for 30+ competitions at all levels, and our students have earned numerous awards. We are approved vendors with the regional center and multiple charter schools, and we are widely trusted in our neighborhood—especially through strong word-of-mouth in Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Indian parent communities.
We're seeking an experienced, upbeat instructor to teach guitar and/or drums in private and small-group settings. Ability to teach both instruments and entry level piano/keyboard is a strong plus. Responsibilities Design and select a tailored syllabus and curriculum aligned to each student's goals, level, and learning preferences. Deliver engaging private or group lessons in guitar and/or drums. Prepare students for recitals, exams, and competitions (repertoire selection, practice plans, stage readiness). Track attendance and progress; provide timely updates to families as needed. Collaborate with the Belle Melodie team on events and examinations. Stay current with teaching methods, repertoire, and instructional technology. Qualifications (Required) 5+ years teaching experience in guitar and/or drums Proficiency on guitar (acoustic/electric) and/or drums; bass is a plus; keyboard/piano/vocal is another plus; Strong grasp of music theory and level-appropriate technique Proficient in sight-reading standard notation for guitar and/or drums Clear, encouraging communication with students of varied ages and levels Professionalism, punctuality, and a student-first mindset Additional Requirements Legally permitted to work in the United States Background checks (state + federal; Live Scan clearance) upon hire Belle Melodie Music Preferred—Meet at least two of the following Current MTAC or MTNA (or equivalent) membership 3+ years of teaching at a recognized music education center national wide Valid U.S. teaching credential in music Bachelor's or higher in Music Performance or Music Education ≥3 years teaching

- Plan and host student recitals, exams, and performance opportunities; handle logistics end-to-end. Bands & ensembles

- Communicate with families and coordinate schedule changes on your behalf. Sub coverage
