Job Description

Craft Music is seeking an engaging guitar teacher who can also confidently teach beginner piano for in-home lessons in San Francisco.
ABOUT CRAFT MUSIC
We offer thoughtful, personalized lessons to children, teenagers, and adults. Our teachers combine strong fundamentals with creativity and music each student enjoys. We value dependable teaching and lasting relationships with families.
LOCATION AND AVAILABILITY
This is an in-home position serving an agreed San Francisco service area. Please share your starting neighborhood, travel radius, and consistent weekday-afternoon, evening, or weekend availability. Reliable transportation and a genuine willingness to travel to students' homes are essential; car access is especially helpful. We aim to group compatible assignments rather than assume you can commute across the entire city. You do not need to cover every neighborhood.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Strong guitar teaching skills: technique, rhythm, chords, repertoire, and musical expression. The ability to independently teach beginner piano, not simply familiarity with the instrument. An encouraging approach adaptable to different ages, interests, and styles. Reliable weekly teaching blocks and prompt communication with families and Craft Music. A music degree or equivalent professional teaching and performance experience. Voice, bass, ukulele, songwriting, and music production are welcome additional skills. Please list your teaching level separately for each instrument or subject.
TEACHER COMPENSATION
Pay is per lesson: $48 for 30 minutes, $63 for 45 minutes, and $76 for a 60-minute lesson. The hourly figure in this posting refers to a single 60-minute lesson. Back-to-back lessons have a $5 adjustment. Two consecutive 30-minute lessons are paid separately and may total more than one 60-minute lesson. The exact arrangement is confirmed before assignment. This is a growing part-time contract opportunity. Craft Music matches teachers with families and coordinates scheduling and administration. Assignments depend on student demand, location, availability, and fit; a full roster is not guaranteed.
TO APPLY
Please include your resume and a brief introduction covering: The highest level you confidently teach on guitar and piano, and any other instruments. Your preferred student ages and musical styles. Exact weekly teaching availability and earliest start date. Your starting neighborhood and San Francisco areas you can reliably serve. Whether you have car access and how you would travel to lessons. A teaching or performance sample, if available. Learn more at www.craft-music.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
