Private Cello Instructor San Marino Music Center is currently hiring for a cello instructor to add to our roster. We have an immediate vacancy to satisfy asap. We have students who are lined-up and in need of an instructor to take over on a weekly basis. Thursdays between 3-8 pm Educators must hold a music degree or be enrolled in a program that will result in a degree. Candidates should have a minimum of two years teaching experience on their instrument. Instructors who can teach other string instruments or piano will be given strong consideration. For the position, we are interested in teachers who are accustomed to teaching out of method books such as Suzuki, Essential Elements, All For Strings, Introducing the Positions and others. Supplemental material assigned is at the discretion of the teacher subject to the availability of books in stock at the Music Center. Hourly pay Application Question(s): For new positions (as opposed to filling a vacancy), teachers will be registered with students on an "as they come basis". Teachers can expect to work with as little as one student per week until enough time has passed to fill out a teacher's availability. Are you familiar and okay with this procedure? Our shop schedules lessons in 30, 45 and 60 minute increments. Students are scheduled back-to-back for an instructors availability. If a student cancels a lesson, teachers will need to deal with a gap in their schedule for those cancelations. Have you ever worked for another music studio or lesson house with similar scheduling procedures? The majority of our lessons are scheduled during after school hours during the week (3-8 pm) and within a 3-4 hour window on Saturday (between 9 am-5 pm). This is a part-time position. Teachers can expect to work one day per week until that availability is filled before adding a second day. Are you familiar and okay with this procedure?
