Job Description

Elementary Music Teacher (180 Days) West Ridge Academy is looking for a motivated and highly-qualified candidate to join our team. West Ridge has an immediate need for an enthusiastic elementary music teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Under the general guidance of the school principal, our music teacher will inspire students' love of music while contributing to a positive, collaborative school culture. The ideal candidate enjoys working with elementary students, believes music should be engaging and joyful, and is excited to help lead student performances that involve families and our school community. . West Ridge Academy is a K-8 Core Knowledge Charter School. We are a tuition-free open enrollment charter located in Greeley, CO. We feature small classrooms where we teach character education through our eight Pillars of Virtue.

Perseverance Essential Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily: Provide engaging music instruction for students in grades K-5. Collaborate with classroom teachers and special teachers across elementary and middle school. Integrate literacy connections when appropriate, using CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts). Foster family engagement and parent involvement through performances and communication. Contribute positively to a team-oriented and supportive school culture Plans, coordinates rehearsals for, and directs students in musical programs and performances outside the classroom. Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents. Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school policies, and establishes and maintains virtuous standards of pupil behavior needed to ensure a productive learning atmosphere during practice, rehearsal and performances. Supervises students in activities taking place out of the classroom during the school day. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student needs. Knowledge of common core state standards and concepts. Ability to play an instrument or instruments, conduct students in playing instruments as needed. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students. Ability to instruct students in singing, harmonization, and chorus as needed. Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. Ability to organize and coordinate work. Ability to engage in self-reflection with regard to performance and professional growth. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. Willingness to assume positive intent and discuss issues with parties involved. Qualifications Profile Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field Colorado teaching license or the ability to obtain Experience teaching elementary students preferred Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
