Music & Arts seeks a dedicated Flute Music Teacher to provide private and group flute instruction in our retail lesson studio. You'll assess student skill levels, create customized lesson plans, teach technique, tone, and music reading, and prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school performances. Collaborate with store staff to support lesson enrollment and promote programs, maintain accurate schedules and progress notes, and create a positive, inclusive learning environment aligned with our student-focused, community-driven culture. Responsibilities Provide private and group flute lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels Assess student abilities and develop individualized lesson plans and learning goals Teach flute technique, music reading, tone production, and musicianship Prepare students for recitals, auditions, school performances, and evaluations Track attendance, progress, and repertoire in an organized manner Communicate with parents and students about goals, expectations, and progress Collaborate with store staff to support lesson enrollment and studio growth Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment Follow Music & Arts policies, schedules, and curriculum guidelines Participate in studio events, recitals, and promotional activities as needed Required Skills Flute performance Music theory Sight-reading Lesson planning Classroom management Student assessment Recital and audition preparation Communication Time management Basic music technology/recording tools
