Job Description
Music & Arts seeks an Orchestral Strings Music Teacher to provide high quality private and group lessons for violin, viola, cello, and bass students at Store 097. In this role, you'll develop engaging lesson plans, prepare students for performances and school programs, and track progress to meet educational goals. You'll collaborate with store staff and school service representatives, support recitals and events, and model exceptional customer service. The position blends teaching with light administrative duties such as scheduling, student communication, and maintaining a safe, inclusive studio environment. Responsibilities Provide private and group lessons for orchestral string instruments (violin, viola, cello, bass) Develop and adapt lesson plans to student goals and skill levels Prepare students for recitals, school performances, and auditions Track and communicate student progress with parents and guardians Collaborate with store staff and school service representatives to support programs Support and participate in student recitals and in store events Maintain an organized, welcoming, and safe lesson studio Handle basic administrative tasks such as scheduling and attendance Recommend instruments, accessories, and materials to support student learning Required Skills Orchestral string performance (violin/viola/cello/bass) Music pedagogy and lesson planning Music theory and notation Classroom and studio management Student assessment and progress tracking Parent and student communication Performance preparation and coaching Basic administrative and scheduling skills Use of digital tools for music or scheduling Customer service in a retail or lesson environment
