Salary:
$8,000 prorated per start date Part-Time Music Teacher role is responsible for introducing young elementary students to the fundamentals of music through engaging, age-appropriate instruction. The role blends creativity, education, and classroom management to foster a lifelong appreciation for music. In addition to classroom instruction, the Part-Time Music Teacher may direct student and student group performances and help students build confidence and collaboration skills in music. Part-Time Music Teacher will perform all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision and values of All Saints Catholic Academy and the
Archdiocese of Hartford Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement engaging music lessons aligned with curriculum standards. Teach vocal and instrumental basics (e.g., percussion, simple instruments). Introduce music theory concepts in an accessible way. Maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment suited to young learners. Plan, rehearse and direct student musical programs for school Masses, school events and the community. Monitor student progress regularly and communicate achievements and growth with parents. Work with classroom teachers and other staff to support inclusive learning. Manage and maintain school-owned sheet music and audio equipment. Integrate music with other subjects (e.g.: math rhythms, cultural studies through world music). Bachelor's degree in music education and/or valid teaching certificate in music education or equivalent experience. Minimum of two years of successful experience working as a music teacher in a school setting. Relevant experience in classroom instruction and assessment. Experience in the use of educational technology. Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills. Have a warm, supportive, attitude towards children. Must have excellent classroom management.
