Percussion Instructor Location:

South Florida (Northern Miami-Dade to Homestead)

Duration:

2024-2025 School Year (With potential to continue into 2026) The Drumline Network, a premier organization dedicated to the advancement of percussion education throughout the United States and beyond, is seeking passionate and talented individuals to join our team as certified Percussion Instructors. This unique opportunity is directed towards dynamic individuals, aged 18 and above, who are either high school graduates or current college/university students, looking to make a significant impact in the musical education of students across various levels

• from elementary to high school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate marching percussion/drumline instruction in a range of educational settings.
• Teach and implement an outlined curriculum that fosters musical growth and student engagement.
• Participate in paid training and professional development sessions to enhance instructional skills and pedagogical knowledge.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment in accordance with school district policies and The Drumline Network's + partner organizations philosophy.
• Manage classroom settings effectively, maintaining high standards of discipline and respect while achieving results and attaining set milestones.
• Prepare students for performances, parades, and other local and regional events.
• Collaborate with school staff, The Drumline Network, and partner team to meet educational goals.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older, with a high school diploma or current enrollment in a college/university program.
• Prior percussion experience is essential and required; Marching experience is beneficial, but not required.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check as per school district policy.
• Completion of The Drumline Network's Percussion Instructor Training Program.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Availability to work primarily between 7:30am and 3:00 pm, with occasional after-school and weekend commitments.

Compensation:

• Competitive pay structure: Instructional hours at $35/hour; Non-Instructional hours (including training and professional development) at $20/hour.
• This position is fully funded for the 2024-2025 school year, offering stable and rewarding employment.

Hours are flexible to allow for outside educational opportunities or additional employment.

Professional Development:

• Mandatory participation in paid training covering music theory, technique pedagogy, classroom management, safety protocols, and more.
• Ongoing professional development to maintain employment status.
• Instructors will be required to communicate, consult, and report directly to regional manager on a weekly/bi-weekly basis.
