Job Description
Shining Star Music Academy is currently hiring music teachers in the Ocala area to help meet growing demand. We provide in-home lessons, and our team handles all scheduling, communication, and admin so you can focus on what you love - teaching music. We have an immediate opening for piano teachers , especially for weekday morning, afternoon, and evening hours. Teachers of other instruments are also welcome to apply! You'll be joining a passionate team of educators committed to quality instruction and creating joyful learning experiences. We are anticipating over 1000 students next semester, and this is a great time to come on board!

2026 Fall Semester (Late Sept Start - October) or 2027Spring Semester Compensation:
$26.50-$32.00 per teaching hour, plus $14.00/hour for driving time (between first and last lesson), and paid training ( $14.00/hour)Work Location:
On the road Minimum Requirements (Please do not apply if you do not meet all ): Music lesson experience as a student (private lessons and performance) in at least one instrument. Live locally in Ocala, FL or any nearby community Willing to teach at least 2 hours per week Reliable vehicle Commitment to pursuing excellence in your instrument(s) Performance experience Self-directed and responsible Punctual and professional Passion for sharing music Flexible and student-centered teaching style Also Desired (Not Required): Experience teaching any subject Experience working with children Ability to play multiple instruments is a plus, but definitely not required! We are hiring multiple teachers for different instruments Why Join Us? Professional development assistance Application Question(s): How many years of teaching experience do you have? What is the highest level of education you have completed? This position would require you to drive to students' homes for in person lessons. Do you have a reliable vehicle? Please list and describe all the instruments you have studied and can teach. You may describe the level which you feel comfortable teaching that instrument.For example:
Piano, Guitar, Voice (beginner) What is your current availability for teaching? (For example, Mondays 10am-4pm, Tuesdays, etc) Most of our students are piano students. If your primary instrument is not piano but have had classes or lessons in piano yourself as a student, would you be comfortable teaching beginner level piano to young children? (We can provide additional training for this as long as you have had some experience learning piano before) Which area of Ocala, Florida or its surrounding areas do you live in ? (We don't currently consider teachers who live outside of this area, as the commute isn't ideal in a driving job) How many years of private lessons have you taken? A 7-year-old student is frustrated and wants to quit mid-lesson. How do you pivot the energy in the room? Describe something you've taught a child who was struggling to understand it.
