Percussion Instructor (Part-Time to Full-Time)

Job Description

Join Our Growing Team of Music Educators! Elite Academy of Music and Motion is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and student-focused Percussion Instructor to join our rapidly growing academy in Ormond Beach, Florida. We are looking for an instructor who is passionate about music education and committed to helping students of all ages develop their musical abilities in a positive and encouraging environment. This position offers the opportunity to build a consistent teaching schedule with room for continued growth as our student base expands.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Music Education , Music Performance, or a closely related music field. Minimum 5 years of percussion teaching experience (private lessons, school programs, or collegiate instruction). Strong proficiency in drum set and concert percussion. Experience teaching students of various ages and skill levels. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Reliable, professional, and committed to providing high-quality instruction.
Preferred:
Proficiency in teaching additional instruments (such as piano, guitar, bass, voice, or other band/orchestra instruments). Experience directing ensembles, percussion groups, or school band programs. Knowledge of various musical styles including classical, jazz, rock, pop, marching percussion, and contemporary music. Experience preparing students for performances, auditions, competitions, and evaluations. Responsibilities Provide engaging one-on-one percussion instruction for students of all ages. Develop individualized lesson plans that encourage growth and musical confidence. Maintain lesson notes and communicate student progress with families when appropriate. Prepare students for recitals, performances, auditions, and other academy events. Foster a welcoming, professional, and encouraging learning environment. Collaborate with fellow instructors and participate in academy events as needed. Schedule Flexible weekday and evening hours. Saturday availability is a plus. Part-time position with the opportunity to grow into a larger schedule. Opportunity for Additional Teaching Hours Applicants who are qualified to teach multiple instruments will receive strong consideration. Multi-instrument instructors often have greater opportunities to build a fuller teaching schedule and increase weekly teaching hours based on student demand.
