Job Description

About Rollin Rock Academy Rollin Rock Academy is a new music school in St. Johns County focused on helping kids and teens learn music by doing what musicians love most: playing music together. In addition to individual instruction, our goal is to bring students together into bands where they can rehearse, develop confidence, learn teamwork, and prepare for live performances. We are currently building our founding team of music instructors. Who We Are Looking For We are looking for instructors in one or more of the following areas: Guitar Bass Drums Keyboard and piano Vocals Musicians who can teach multiple instruments are especially encouraged to apply. We are looking for someone who: Enjoys working with children and teenagers Has strong skills on their instrument Is comfortable teaching beginner and intermediate students Has experience with rock, pop, alternative, or contemporary music Has band or live performance experience Can make lessons engaging and fun Is patient, dependable, and communicates well with families Is interested in eventually coaching student bands and rehearsals Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not required . We are also interested in working musicians, college music students, and experienced performers who have the personality and patience to become great instructors. About the Position This is a part time position with hours based initially on student enrollment. We expect opportunities for additional teaching and band coaching hours as Rollin Rock Academy grows. Initial lessons will take place at our home studio in St. Johns County near Beachwalk while our permanent academy location is being developed. What Makes This Different We are not building a traditional music lesson program where students spend years practicing alone. Our goal is to help students develop their individual skills and then put those skills to work in a real band environment . Teachers will have the opportunity to help shape the program from the beginning and eventually coach student bands, rehearsals, performances, and other academy activities.
