Job Description
Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Music Instructor specializing in violin, viola, cello, double bass, and piano to inspire students of all ages through the transformative power of music. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop comprehensive curricula, foster a love for the arts, and nurture emerging talents in a vibrant educational environment. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and expertise in both instrumental performance and arts education to help students achieve their musical goals while cultivating their overall artistic development. Duties Design engaging and age-appropriate curricula for individual and group music lessons across string instruments and piano, incorporating creative arts instruction techniques. Deliver inspiring instruction that emphasizes technical skill development, musical expression, and performance confidence. Manage classroom environments effectively to promote positive behavior, focus, and active participation among students of diverse backgrounds. Incorporate elements of choreography, dance instruction, theater experience, and visual arts into lessons to enhance students' overall artistic expression. Support students' growth through tailored feedback, goal setting, and performance opportunities both within the classroom and at community events. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary programs that integrate music with other creative arts such as photography, sewing, ballet, or dance. Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and lesson plans while ensuring a safe and welcoming learning space for all ages—including preschoolers and adults. Experience Proven experience teaching music performance on violin, viola, cello, double bass or piano to children and adults in educational or community settings. Strong background in curriculum development tailored to various age groups including preschoolers and youth programs. Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a supportive environment for creative exploration. Experience working with children's developmental stages and applying childhood development principles within arts education. Knowledge of choreography, dance instruction (including ballet or dancing), theater arts, and visual arts enhances instructional versatility. Familiarity with teaching specializations such as creative arts instruction, performing arts education, or adult learning programs is highly desirable.
