Group Music Instructor — New Kids' Band Program (Part-Time, Decatur GA) Firehouse Guitars and Music Decatur, GA Job Details Contract $45 - $50 an hour 19 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Qualifications Program design No experience needed Working with students Teaching experience with young children Classroom Teaching Full Job Description About the Role We're launching a brand-new group program this fall, a band-style class for kids ages 4-7 where students play guitar, keys, drums, and vocals together as a group instead of one-on-one. No prior experience needed for students, and no at-home practice required. We're looking for the instructor to help us build and lead this program from the ground up.
First session target:
early October. This is a startup program, so you'll have real input on how the curriculum and format come together — not just filling a slot in an existing system. What You'll Do Lead a weekly 45-minute group class of 4-6 young kids (ages 4-7), rotating them through guitar, keys, and drums as a "band" Build a simple, playable arrangement each 8-week season that culminates in an informal in-house performance Create a fun, structured, high-energy environment for kids who've never played an instrument before Communicate with parents about their kid's progress in a way that's warm and easy to understand (no music-jargon required — we want parents to feel the growth, not just hear about it) Help shape the program's curriculum and format during this first season What We're Looking For Comfortable playing and teaching multiple instruments (guitar, keys, and/or drums) — you don't need to be a virtuoso on all three, but you need to be able to run a room across them Experience working with young kids (ages 4-7) — patience, energy, and the ability to keep a room of 5 four-year-olds engaged for 45 minutes Prior teaching experience preferred, group/classroom experience a big plus Reliable, communicative, and excited to help build something new from scratch
Details Schedule:
Saturday mornings, before noon (likely 10-11am to start), 1 session/week, with room to grow to additional Saturday slots as the program expands
Location:
Firehouse Guitars & Music, Decatur, GA — our dedicated band rehearsal space
Compensation:
$50/session, paid monthly How to Apply Send a resume and a quick note about your experience with young kids and multi-instrument teaching to . Video of you performing or teaching is a plus but not required.
Pay:
$45.00 - $50.00 per hour
