EDDYVILLE-BLAKESBURG-FREMONT COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT

JOB

DESCRIPTION FOR CLASSROOM TEACHER

To provide a comprehensive educational program for the students of the district. This would include daily instruction and periodic testing of students' knowledge of the subject matter. Each student will be provided the necessary skills to function in an ever changing society.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

IA Teacher Certification with appropriate ""

Responsible to: Principal-Superintendent-Board to coincide with the chain of command.

Performance Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Assume instructional leadership within the classroom setting.

Implement instructional programs within guidelines of district curriculum.

Maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning.

Inform parents of progress of students and report student academic achievement according to the rules and regulations of the district.

Refer students with special problems to the appropriate counselors or specialists as the building procedure indicates.

Attend and participate in school-community functions.

Maintain an inventory of classroom instructional supplies, textbooks, and materials, and exercise control of the care of the same.

Function as a professional by attending workshops, conferences, seminars, etc., and by keeping up on current educational trends by reading professional literature.

Inform the administration of needed building repairs and note items that are beyond repair.

Provide instruction to classes on safety and building evacuation procedures.

Perform other duties as delegated by the building administration and in compliance with the negotiated agreement.

Pilot educational programs and serve on committees as necessary.

Be informed of the educational philosophy, goals, and policies of the district.

Participate in in-service and staff development programs.

Maintain district policies and regulations.

Participate in initiating, implementing and coordinating of curriculum.

Perform all other related duties as
