Proficiency in band and/or orchestra instruments are preferred. Although we also offer virtual learning, this position is local to the Fairfax, Iowa area. You may have students who are not in the local area, so you should have a level of comfort with using technology to facilitate their instruction. We provide private one-on-one music education to children and adults. You will be responsible for passing along to others your musical skills and abilities. You must provide knowledge and instruction to students while helping them develop skills that complement their interests and abilities. You should be passionate for teaching, with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. You must be patient and encouraging at all times, providing help to students who may struggle with grasping the concepts and skills that you are trying to convey.

Qualifications :

Proficient in band and/or orchestra instruments to at least late-intermediate level and able to teach beginner and intermediate instrumentalists Multi-instrumentalist is a plus Early childhood education experience is a plus Special needs education is a plus Have a deep interest in passing along to others the musical skills and abilities that you have acquired Skilled in assessing students' progress and providing constructive feedback Interest in collaborating with other teachers and participating in regular meetings Proficiency in your instrument(s), and skilled in developing and enriching your own musical skills and knowledge by regular personal development Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills Be comfortable using technology to support your work Strong moral values and self-discipline We offer : Self-Managed Scheduling that is Customer-Focused Student billing and scheduling support Options to teach from your home or in students' homes or one-on-one online Employee discounts Hourly pay plus extras Collaborative environment amongst fellow teachers
