Job Description

Music & Arts is seeking a passionate Music Teacher to provide private and group lessons in our retail store. In this role, you'll teach students of varying ages and skill levels, focusing on band and orchestra instruments and core music fundamentals. You'll create engaging lesson plans, track student progress, and communicate regularly with parents and school partners. Collaborating with store staff, you'll help support recitals, events, and education programs that drive student retention. Responsibilities Provide private and group music lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels Develop and adapt lesson plans aligned with student goals and school needs Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents Prepare students for performances, recitals, and school events Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming studio/lesson environment in the retail store Collaborate with store staff to support education programs and community events Recommend instruments, accessories, and educational materials to support student learning Use scheduling and point-of-sale systems to manage lesson times and attendance Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and school partners Uphold Music & Arts policies, brand standards, and commitment to music education Required Skills Music instruction Lesson planning Classroom management Instrument proficiency (band/orchestra) Student assessment and progress tracking Parent communication Performance preparation and coaching Basic retail/sales support Scheduling and time management Use of basic POS or scheduling software
