Music and Company is looking for a personable, reliable guitar teacher to join our substitute team at our Chicago studio. We're a performance-focused school that helps students build skills, confidence, and a lasting connection with music. Our lessons connect fundamentals with songs students enjoy and the experience of making music with others. Join as a substitute with the opportunity to grow into regular teaching. Our substitute team is a pipeline for future regular roles. Covering lessons lets you get to know M&C while we get to know your teaching. Strong substitutes can be considered for their own recurring student roster as openings become available. Regular hours are not guaranteed. What you'll doYou'd be a great fit if you Cover private guitar lessons when regular teachers are unavailable. Teach children, teens, and adults, including beginners. Help students develop chords, rhythm, technique, and musicianship. Adapt lessons to students' goals and musical interests. Follow existing lesson notes and leave a useful handoff for the regular teacher. Are a confident guitarist with a clear, encouraging teaching approach. Enjoy helping beginners get started and keeping developing players motivated. Can break musical concepts into approachable steps. Are dependable, flexible, and a strong communicator. Are interested in a potential longer-term teaching opportunity. Can you also teach bass or another instrument? How scheduling works This is an as-needed substitute position . We'll coordinate coverage around your stated availability; a fixed weekly schedule is not guaranteed.
