Music & Arts seeks a Drums & Percussion Teacher to provide engaging private and group lessons in our retail studio. You'll teach students of all ages, building skills in rhythm, technique, reading, and ensemble playing while supporting school band and orchestra programs. Develop personalized lesson plans, track progress, and communicate with families. Collaborate with store staff to grow lesson enrollment and promote Music & Arts' education offerings within a friendly, student-focused, and community-driven environment. Responsibilities Provide private and group drum and percussion lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels Develop customized lesson plans that support student goals and school music programs Demonstrate proper technique, music reading, rhythm, and ensemble skills Prepare students for school performances, auditions, and recitals Track student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians Collaborate with store staff to support lesson enrollment and retention Promote Music & Arts programs, events, and educational offerings Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment in-store Recommend instruments, accessories, and learning materials to support student success Uphold Music & Arts policies, scheduling, and documentation requirements Required Skills Drum set performance Concert percussion performance Marching percussion techniques Music reading and notation Lesson planning and curriculum development Classroom and studio management Student assessment and progress tracking Youth instruction and communication Basic sales and customer service Collaboration with retail staff
