Job Description
Music & Arts seeks a passionate Music Teacher to provide private and group lessons in our retail store. You will teach students of varying ages and skill levels, develop individualized lesson plans, and prepare students for performances and school programs. Partner with store staff to support rentals, sales, and accessories that enhance student learning. Ideal candidates have strong performance or teaching experience, excellent communication skills, and a student-first mindset. Responsibilities Provide private and small-group music lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels Develop individualized lesson plans aligned with student goals and school needs Prepare students for recitals, school performances, and auditions Assess student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians Maintain accurate schedules, attendance, and lesson records Collaborate with store staff to support rentals, sales, and accessories that enhance learning Ensure a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment Incorporate a variety of teaching methods, repertoire, and technology to engage students Participate in in-store events, recitals, and community outreach as needed Uphold Music & Arts policies, standards of professionalism, and student-first culture Required Skills Music instruction Lesson planning Music theory Classroom management Student assessment Instrument proficiency Recital and performance preparation Parent communication Basic retail and point-of-sale familiarity Use of music education technology and software
