Job Description

Music and Arts is seeking an Orchestral Strings Teacher to provide high-quality private and group lessons in our retail studio. In this student-focused role, you will teach violin, viola, cello, or bass to learners of all ages, create engaging lesson plans, and prepare students for performances and auditions. You'll collaborate with store staff and school service reps to support local music programs, guide families on instruments and accessories, and contribute to a friendly, inclusive, and education-driven environment where students thrive through music. Responsibilities Provide private and group orchestral string lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels Develop and follow individualized lesson plans aligned with student goals and school standards Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and performance opportunities Assess student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment Collaborate with store staff and school service reps to support local music programs Recommend appropriate instruments, rentals, and accessories to support student success Maintain accurate scheduling, attendance, and basic lesson records Required Skills Orchestral string performance (violin/viola/cello/bass) Music theory and ear training Lesson planning and curriculum development Classroom and studio management Student assessment and progress tracking Recital and audition preparation Communication with parents and students Basic sales of instruments and accessories Scheduling and time management Basic record keeping
