Job Description

Music and Arts seeks a Piano Teacher to provide engaging private and small-group lessons in our retail studio. You will teach students of all ages and levels, building skills in technique, music reading, theory, and performance. Responsibilities include designing lesson plans, tracking progress, preparing students for recitals and auditions, and communicating with parents. You'll collaborate with store staff to grow enrollments while supporting a friendly, inclusive, student-focused culture dedicated to music education and community engagement. Responsibilities Provide individual and small-group piano lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels Develop personalized lesson plans aligned with student goals and Music & Arts curriculum Teach music reading, technique, theory, and performance skills Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school performances Communicate progress and practice expectations with parents and students Maintain accurate schedules, attendance, and lesson records Collaborate with store staff to support student recruitment and retention Uphold a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment Required Skills Piano performance Music theory Sight-reading Lesson planning Classroom/lesson management Student assessment Ear training Basic improvisation/accompaniment Communication with parents and students Time management and scheduling
