Job Description

Qualifications Voice training and/or experience is required in at least three of the following styles: Rock, Jazz, Pop, Country, Bluegrass, Folk, R&B, Gospel, and Broadway. Successful prior teaching experience and musical expertise required. Experience and passion for working with young children through adults. Performance experience is desired, and the ability to accompany oneself on an instrument is a plus. Ability to communicate ideas, concepts, and demonstrate vocal techniques to people of different ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. Must have a strong commitment to teaching and a genuine interest in the life-long musical development of individual students: positive attitude, excellent communication skills, high standards of quality, good judgment. Ability to teach classical voice is a plus. A bachelor's degree in music is required. A master's degree in music is preferred.

Job Description The Harper College Community Music and Arts Center seeks a voice instructor to provide instruction in private lessons and group settings for children and adults. This position is expected to start ASAP. The position is dependent on enrollment and includes evening and weekend work, as well as attendance at recitals. Responsibilities Teach individual weekly lessons to non-credit students and children enrolled in the Community Music and Arts Center programs (30-minute, 45-minute, and 60-minute lessons). Collaborate and/or teach group classes, including InZone Summer Camp children's classes. Organize and maintain a consistent teaching schedule. Communicate schedules to the program's coordinator. Prepare students for performances and attend recitals. Integrate technology into the delivery of instruction. Attend department and faculty meetings. Attend CE Instructor meetings when requested.
