The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and is able to make lessons engaging, encouraging, and fun. Responsibilities Teach group lessons and/or private guitar lessons Work with children and beginner/intermediate students Teach proper guitar technique, chords, rhythm, music reading, and basic music theory Prepare engaging and age-appropriate lesson materials Help students develop confidence, musical skills, and an interest in learning music Communicate professionally with students, parents, and studio staff Maintain a consistent teaching schedule Prepare students for recitals or performances when appropriate Qualifications Strong guitar playing skills Previous guitar teaching experience preferred Experience working with children is highly preferred Patient, positive, dependable, and professional Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to teach beginner students in an encouraging and structured way Music degree or current music major is a plus, but not required Compensation $25-$35 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications.
