NEMPAC is seeking an early childhood music instructor who loves working with young children and using music to support their growth, creativity, and development to work at one of our partner schools, Good Shepherd School. Good Shepherd School

• Early Childhood Music & Movement Mondays, 9:00-11:00 AM | Four 30-minute Pre-K classes September 28, 2026
• April 12, 2027 This is a fun, introductory general music program for young students, with a focus on singing, rhythm, movement and basic dance, instruments, and foundational music concepts.

We're looking for a warm, energetic, and versatile instructor who can create a classroom environment that is both fun and educational. The ideal candidate will be comfortable introducing young children to a variety of instruments and musical experiences, including guitar, voice, ukulele, drums, and keyboard , while incorporating music games, movement activities, and other age-appropriate activities into each class.

The right instructor will:

Love working with young children and bring a positive, playful energy to the classroom Have experience teaching early childhood or general music Be comfortable working across a variety of instruments and musical activities Use games, movement, singing, and hands-on activities to keep young students engaged Create a welcoming classroom where children feel encouraged to explore and make music

Qualifications:

• Instructor should have at least 2 years of teaching music education classes.
• Instructor should love working with children ages 2
• 4•Instructor will be energetic, engaging, and have a sense of humor•Instructor will have excellent time management skills, have thought out lesson plans.
• Instructor will have a Bachelors degree in Music Education, Performance, or another relevant field.
• Pay range between $50
• $55 / hr.

North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) is a 501(c)(3) community music school and performing arts center empowering artists of all ages and abilities. In 2001, five North End mothers created NEMPAC to meet a community need for children's instrument lessons. Twenty years of unwavering community support fueled NEMPAC's growth from a 501(c)(3) offering piano lessons out of its founders' homes to a community music school and professional performing arts center operating from over 15 locations throughout the City of Boston. Today, NEMPAC's community music school serves over 1,500 students per week through private and group music instruction, on-site arts programming at area schools, as well as in-house education classes. NEMPAC credits the rigor and quality of its educational programming to the distinguished team of 30-plus faculty members who mentor and teach the next generation of artists. NEMPAC's performing arts center attracts regional, national, as well as international solo acts and professional music groups to stages in the greater-Boston area.
