Job Description

Music lesson studio with locations in Downtown Boston and Somerville is seeking a Voice and Piano Teacher with afternoon and evening availability. Typical teaching shifts are weekdays 2:00-9:00 pm and Saturdays between 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Specific shifts will be determined based on studio needs and teacher availability. Must be comfortable teaching all ages, levels, and genres. Must be comfortable with pop, musical theatre, and classical styles. Teacher must be able to teach up to advanced voice and beginner to intermediate piano. Stellar interpersonal skills are a must! Many students are beginners who do not read sheet music. Some students work on originals, and some students work with chords/lead sheets if we can not find piano/vocal arrangements. Above all, flexibility and an ability to improvise to accommodate students' individual needs is key. Bachelor's in Music Required, Master's Preferred Excellent communication skills Outgoing personality Minimum 1 year prior experience Knowledge of contemporary & traditional styles w/ strong reading skills Ability to teach beginner to advanced students Excellent musical and professional references This is a part-time position with up to 8-20 hours a week depending on need and availability throughout the year.
