Description:
Voice Teacher Position Musical Journeys Academy / Boston Bilingual Singers is a children's choral and vocal studio in Needham. We teach small choir groups and offer instruction in voice and piano. Our philosophy is rooted in healthy vocal development, musicianship, and the belief that young choral singers benefit greatly from individual voice lessons. Our curriculum includes music theory and music literature. We are seeking a part-time Voice Teacher to join our team starting Fall 2026. The position includes teaching individual voice lessons to children ages 8-18, with the opportunity to teach small group classes for younger singers. We currently have three voice students and four new inquiries for the uing school year. The teacher may work as many days as they wish and build their own studio within our program. Schedule The studio operates September-mid-June, with optional summer lessons. A small Music Theory Group (1 hour) begins this fall on Mondays — this class may be included in the teaching load. Voice teacher is preferred on Wednesdays Additional teaching days are flexible. Voice Teacher (Independent Contractor Position) Competitive pay based on lessons taught Needham, MA — easy parking, accessible by Bus 59 from Newton Highlands MBTA station.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum 5 years teaching experience. Strong foundation in healthy classical and musical theatre technique. Ability to provide basic apaniment during lessons (apanist provided for concerts and festivals). Skill in selecting age-appropriate repertoire. Bilingualism or multilingualism is a plus. Many of our students speak Russian; otherse from Turkish, Chinese, Indian, Azerbaijani, and Irish backgrounds. Must pass CORI checks.
