Job Description

NRHEG Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to serve as our Elementary Band and Music Teacher in our growing Music program for the 2026-2027 school year.
General Responsibilities:
Provides high-quality musical instruction to individual students and small groups Collaborates with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for individual and small groups of students Ability to teach skills in the musical foundations and an appreciation for vocal and instrumental music Plans and delivers a balanced musical program for students Effectively organizes class time and maximizes student engagement and learning Participates in meetings with teachers, administration, and families to discuss student placement and progress Adapts curriculum to meet the needs of each student Incorporates all types of music literature, including traditional and contemporary that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of the students Will evaluate each student's musical growth, performance, and musical understanding and will assess each student's contribution to the performance of the group
Qualifications:
Possession of K-12 MN Instrumental and Classroom Music License Three years of successful classroom teaching experience preferred, but not required Demonstrates an understanding and use of equitable and culturally responsive practices
Preferred Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to apply instructional strategies on differentiation Strong organizational skills Ability to multitask Knowledge of Minnesota State Art/Music Standards, collaboration practices, team teaching practices, and special education Ability to collect data and make recommendations for students Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with school administrators, staff, students, and families
