Job Description

Music & Arts seeks a passionate Music Teacher to provide private and group lessons in our retail store. You'll teach beginner through intermediate students on band, orchestra, or popular instruments, creating lesson plans that build skills and confidence. Partner with parents, schools, and store staff to support student progress, encourage rentals and purchases, and prepare students for performances. You'll maintain accurate schedules and records, help with recitals and events, and contribute to a welcoming, student-focused environment aligned with our mission of expanding access to music education. Responsibilities Provide private and group music lessons to beginner and intermediate students Develop and adapt lesson plans to support individual student goals Communicate progress with students, parents, and educators Support instrument rentals, purchases, and accessories recommendations Prepare students for recitals, performances, and evaluations Maintain accurate lesson schedules, attendance, and records Collaborate with store staff on events and educational programs Create a welcoming, inclusive, student-focused learning environment Required Skills Music instruction Lesson planning Classroom management Student assessment Instrument proficiency Music theory knowledge Performance preparation Customer communication Scheduling and time management Basic retail and point-of-sale awareness
