Job Description

Private Piano Teacher Blair Academy's department of performing arts has an immediate opening for a private piano teacher. This position will provide private piano lessons to students during the academic day, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday while school is in session. Candidates must be energetic and enthusiastic team players with a creative mindset. This position reports to the chair of the performing arts department and is paid on a per lesson, non-exempt basis. Duties & responsibilities: Cultivate a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes creativity and self-expression; Provide personalized piano lessons tailored to the specific needs and goals of individual students; Guide students in developing fundamental skills and cello techniques; Encourage students to perform and share their music, enhancing their confidence and stage presence; Adjust teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities; Assist students in preparing for performances, auditions and music assessments as needed; and Keep detailed records of student progress and maintain clear communication with the supervisor.
Qualifications:
A degree in piano or equivalent professional experience is required; A deep passion for music education; Prior teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Punctuality and the ability to effectively manage one's own schedule, ensuring timely arrival for lessons; and Flexibility to align with students' scheduling needs. Salary & other compensation: Base pay range $75-$100 per lesson. Salary dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to education and experience.
