Job Description

Position:
Anticipated Long Term Subbing Position-Music Teacher Qualifications:

Teach students the skills necessary to perform a varied repertoire of music from different genres Reports to:
Principal Performance Responsibilities:
1. Plan a program of study - aligned with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards and District adopted curriculum - that meet the individual needs, interest and abilities of students. 2. Create a classroom environment that facilitates student learning and promotes character education, equity, and excellence. 3. Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and define these objectives to the students. 4. Utilize a variety of instructional methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives. 5. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required. 6. Seek the assistance of district specialists in diagnosing learning disabilities. 7. Communicate and collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents. 8. Build upon knowledge and skills gained in preceding grades. 9. Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules regarding the approved code of conduct. 10. Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures in a fair and just manner. 11. Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aides when appropriate.
