Music Teacher (Full-Time) Sage Ridge School is Northern Nevada's only non-sectarian, independent, college-preparatory school serving grades 1-12. The Music Teacher at Sage Ridge School is responsible for teaching lower and middle school general music courses and Upper School music ensemble and music fundamentals courses. The music teacher is expected to maintain a current gradebook and maintain effective communication with parents. The music teacher has various responsibilities outside of the classroom, including facilitating showcases, supervision duties, and chaperoning an Outdoor Education Week trip.
Essential Job Functions:
Teach one-per-week music classes to students in grades 1 and 2 Teach quarter-long music classes to students in grades 3-7 Teach a semester-long elective music class to students in grade 8 Teach a semester-long music fundamentals course to students in grade 10 Teach semester-long elective music ensemble classes to students in grades 9-12 Facilitate music showcases each quarter Additional duties and responsibilities: Chaperone an Outdoor Education Trip Teach Sage Session classes Lead a club Complete weekly campus supervision duties Supervise lunch and clean-up duties 2-3 times per year Chaperone two after-school student government events per year Attend weekly faculty meetings Maintain up-to-date gradebooks, homework calendars, and parent communication Possess strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Blackbaud, etc. Support the School's mission and model the School's pillars: Scholarship, Respect, Integrity, Courage, and Community Have strong written and verbal communication skills Attend Back to School Night and other school functions that occur outside of school hours
Competencies Required:
Relevant Bachelor's degree or the equivalent coursework and three years of full-time teaching or a Master's degree and one year of full-time teaching.
