Octave Music Studio is hiring private music teachers to work with students in their homes across Long Island and upper Manhattan, and at our studio in Syosset. Students range from age four to adult, beginner through advanced.

Syosset:

$30 to $38 per hour In-home lessons: $38 to $45 per hour, travel included Rate depends on training and teaching experience. Paid twice monthly by direct deposit.

Schedule:

10:00-3:00pm). Minimum availability 2 days a week, 3-4 hour window each day. Responsibilities Teach weekly private lessons of 30, 45, or 60 minutes Create individual lesson plans based on each student's goals and level Communicate progress to parents and adult students Prepare interested students for NYSSMA, All-County, and college auditions Record brief lesson notes after each lesson Requirements Degree in music performance, music education, or pedagogy, or equivalent professional performing experience Minimum one year of private teaching experience Experience working with children Reliable transportation and valid driver's license for in-home lessons Ability to pass a background check, which we provide Punctual and professional Preferred Master's degree or NYS teaching certification Suzuki, Kodály, or Orff training Ability to teach more than one instrument NYSSMA and All-County preparation experience To apply Submit your resume along with the instruments and levels you teach, the towns you are willing to travel to, and your general weekly availability.
