Piano Lessons In Your Home has been providing high-quality, in-home music instruction for over 30 years . With a long-standing presence in the Columbus area and beyond, we are known for thoughtful student placements, instructor autonomy, and a reputation built on consistency and trust. Many of our instructors work with us for years, valuing our stable student flow and hands-off, instructor-first approach. Position Overview Piano Lessons In Your Home (PLIYH) is seeking experienced piano instructors to join our Columbus-area teaching team . Instructors teach students in their homes and retain full control over their schedules, availability, and routing. Proficiency in additional instruments (voice, guitar, violin) is a plus but not required. This is a part-time independent contractor role ideal for instructors who value flexibility, autonomy, and a steady flow of students without administrative burden.
What We Offer Pay:
$48-$52 per teaching hour, based on experience, availability, and location. Current high demand in Dublin, Powell and Blacklick, with students available throughout the Columbus metro area Flexible scheduling: You choose when and how much you teach
Autonomy:
You manage your own schedule and communication with families Consistent student demand: Ongoing student offerings and active waitlists Low administrative burden: We handle billing, onboarding, and support Regular compensation review How It Works You set your availability and preferred teaching area We offer you students that fit your schedule and preferred teaching areas Once lessons are underway, you teach independently — we step in only when needed You invoice semi-monthly and track lessons through our online system Qualifications and Requirements Strong musical background (degree and/or equivalent professional experience) Prior teaching experience preferred (training available for strong candidates) Reliable transportation for in-home lessons Comfortable teaching students of varying ages and levels Professional, punctual, and communicative Coordinate and lead one annual recital for your own students, with administrative support provided Ideal Candidates Want control over their schedule and student load Prefer teaching over marketing and administrative work Are building or maintaining a private teaching portfolio Value consistency, reliability, and support without micromanagement
