School of Music Location Norman, Oklahoma Open Date Jun 16, 2026 Description The University of Oklahoma Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts School of Music seeks a dedicated Interim Instructor/Lecturer of Violin to join a program long known for the nurturing and development of generations of gifted musicians and teachers. This position is a one-year appointment. Responsibilities Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate applied violin courses as assigned by the School of Music, having the ability to teach and inspire students in string quartet, chamber music, and other courses in the area of violin and string performance and pedagogy as needed by the program. The Instructor/Lecturer will participate in all String Area activities, including recruitment, auditions, juries, and outreach.

August 16 th , 2026 Qualifications Required Qualifications Earned Master's Degree in Violin Performance Evidence of effective teaching and performing Desired Qualifications Earned Doctorate in Violin Performance Collegiate teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels Creative/scholarly accomplishments demonstrated through national solo, chamber, and orchestral performances Application Instructions Application Materials Please submit 1) a letter of application, 2) a complete curriculum vita, 3) recent live YouTube video performance recordings, 4) video examples of teaching, and 5) contact information for at least three professional references.
