Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant arts education team as a Drum Teacher at our dynamic Music Academy! In this energetic role, you will inspire students of all ages to discover the power of rhythm, percussion, and musical expression. Your passion for teaching drums and your expertise in creative arts will help foster a love for music while developing students' technical skills and confidence. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of musicians and artists in a supportive, creative environment. Duties Design engaging drum lessons tailored to students' skill levels, interests, and learning styles, incorporating curriculum development best practices. Lead group and individual drum classes, ensuring a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management techniques. Demonstrate proper drumming techniques, including percussion instrument handling, rhythm exercises, and performance skills. Incorporate elements of choreography, dance instruction, and theater to enhance students' musicality and stage presence. Develop creative lesson plans that integrate visual arts, performance arts, and musical instruments to enrich students' learning experience. Manage classroom behavior proactively to maintain a safe and respectful environment conducive to learning. Collaborate with other instructors on youth programs, special education initiatives, and community outreach activities. Experience Proven experience teaching drums or percussion instruments in educational settings or private lessons. Strong background in curriculum development for music or arts education across various age groups. Experience working with children and youth programs, demonstrating patience and adaptability in diverse classroom environments. Knowledge of teaching visual & performing arts, choreography, dance instruction, theater arts, and musical instruments. Familiarity with early childhood education principles, behavior management strategies, and childhood development stages. Additional expertise in areas such as photography, sewing, ballet, cooking, childcare, or culinary arts is a plus but not required. Prior experience in special education or working with students with special needs is highly valued to support inclusive teaching practices. Pay:
$21.00 - $28.00 per hour
