Piano Teacher Are you a pianist who loves helping students discover what they can do? Southern Oregon School of Music is looking for an enthusiastic, skilled piano teacher to join our teaching team. We're looking for a musician who loves piano, enjoys working with students, and finds it rewarding to help young people grow through music. This position includes both private piano lessons and group piano classes, giving you the opportunity to teach students in both individual and collaborative settings. At Southern Oregon School of Music, we believe music lessons should be more than learning the notes on a page. We want students to develop strong musical skills, confidence, creativity, and a lasting love of music. What You'll Do Teach private piano lessons and group piano classes to students of varying ages and abilities. Help students develop strong foundations in piano technique, music reading, rhythm, theory, sight-reading, ear training, and musicianship. Use our proven group piano methods and curriculum while bringing your own musical personality and enthusiasm to each class. Curriculum training is provided. Create positive, encouraging learning environments where students feel successful, whether they are learning individually or as part of a group. Prepare students for recitals, performances, and other opportunities to share their music, and participate in school events when appropriate. Communicate positively and professionally with students and families while working collaboratively with the Southern Oregon School of Music team. You Might Be Our Next Piano Teacher If... Qualifications Required Strong piano skills and musical background Ability to read music fluently and a strong understanding of music theory and musicianship Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Positive, encouraging, and engaging personality Dependable and professional, with the ability to work well with students, parents, and a teaching team Preferred Previous piano teaching experience Degree or formal training or piano Experience working with children Experience with a variety of musical styles Why Work With Us?
