To that end, we seek a passionate, faith-filled Music Teacher to join our school family. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the musical arts while integrating Catholic values and music appreciation into the curriculum, fostering a love of music and a deeper appreciation of the Catholic faith. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a K-8 music curriculum that meets Diocesan standards.
  • Teach general music classes that utilizes differentiated instruction to teach SEL, musicianship, music theory, notation, rhythm, and vocal/instrumental technique.
  • Integrate Catholic culture into the curriculum, including teaching the varied and wide history of music in the Catholic church.
  • Plan and direct student performances, including Christmas and Spring concerts.
  • Foster a safe, orderly, and joyful classroom environment that promotes discipline and virtue across all grade levels throughout the entirety of the day.
  • Collaborate with administrators and staff, support the academic and spiritual mission of the school.
  • Maintain and manage the school's music inventory (e.g., library, instruments, and equipment).
  • Communicate effectively with all branches of the school community as needed.
  • Participate in school faculty meetings, in-service days, and, when required, parent-teacher conferences. Teaching Opportunities
  • Classroom teaching opportunities are contingent on certification and school needs.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum. Qualifications
Education:

A Bachelor's degree (in Music Education, Sacred Music, or related field preferred) from an accredited college or university is required.

    Certification:

    A valid Texas teaching certificate is preferred.

      Experience:

      Strong knowledge of liturgical music with experience in a Catholic school setting, leading music in Mass (preferred).
